Because the PDF version of the 1999 20th anniversary edition of Alongside Night was pirated and uploaded as a free Bittorrent download a few days ago, we've decided to release the new 30th anniversary edition first as a free PDF edition, and to include display advertising in this edition. We hope to have this new edition ready to go by next week, with a new cover.

Because we expect this edition to be distributed virally and will have no reliable way to track total number of copies circulated we've decided to offer this display ad space on a "per inquiry" basis. We will allocate positioning in the book according to bids received from advertisers. The minimum bid we'll accept is $0.25 (twenty-five cents) per inquiry we deliver.

If we don't fill up available pages with paid ads we may accept free institutional advertising for causes and organizations we feel consistent with the novel's content. So feel free to submit them and we'll use them or not space available.

We are seeking either full-color or black & white display advertising that can be delivered to us camera-ready within the next week. We are only interested in full-page display ads, 300 DPI, with the page size being 6" horizontal X 9" vertical, and 1/2" border on all sides for an effective ad size of 5" horizontal X 8" vertical.

Each ad should include an email identifer you generate plus the email suffix @alongsidenight.com. We will forward all inquiries we receive to an email address you specify. Invoicing will be by PayPal payment requests, with a $10.00 minimum due before we request payment. It would be convenient for us if the email we forward inquiries to is the same email address you use on PayPal, but this is not strictly necessary.

We suggest your advertising be "evergreen" without any expiration dates of the goods or services being offered, since this edition will be in circulation for a long time.

We reserve the right to decline any ad for any reason and will appreciate ads that are tasteful as well as promoting products and services in line with the content of Alongside Night.
